Here at Team Freck, we are constantly experimenting and trying to be innovative with our products. Like the secret menu at In-N-Out or Starbucks, we too have a secret menu. This summer we’ve discovered alternative, off-label and effective ways to use our products. To give you a taste of what we’ve been up to, our founder Remi came up with the idea of using FRECK NOIR as a coverup to turn your zit into a cute lil freckle (for a tutorial, check out our TikTok)!  

Another secret menu item in particular is a hack involving one of our favorite and most celebrated products— 𝘊𝘏𝘌𝘌𝘒𝘚𝘓𝘐𝘔𝘌. This formula was created with the intention of being versatile, hence how you can put it on your eyes, cheeks and even your lips. Read on to see that 𝘊𝘏𝘌𝘌𝘒𝘚𝘓𝘐𝘔𝘌 is even more versatile than it actually seems.

Because the formula is so creamy and pigmented, we tested out the idea of using 𝘊𝘏𝘌𝘌𝘒𝘚𝘓𝘐𝘔𝘌 as a color corrector. When you think about it, it makes total sense. 𝘊𝘏𝘌𝘌𝘒𝘚𝘓𝘐𝘔𝘌 is formulated with Botanical Extract Blend, which is great for plumping up those under eyes. It provides a nice wash of color— thin enough to smoothly layer under foundation or concealer. And since there are now 5 colors in the shade range, you can cocktail your own perfect correcting shade. 

Stayed up till 3 on Tiktok and didn’t get your 8 hours in, so now you have huge bags? Finally got rid of that pesky zit, but now there’s a red mark? Whether you have hyperpigmentation, dark circles or a post-zit discoloration, we got you (and don’t worry— we’ve all been there too).

COLOR CORRECTING 101 

Remember when you learned about the color wheel and complementary colors in elementary school art class? That’s when you learned to color-correct. The whole method is based on using an opposite color in order to cancel our discoloration. That way, you 1) don’t have a grey shadow under your foundation/concealer, and 2) don’t need to apply layers upon layers of product in order to cover up your problem area.

If you have a light-to-medium skin tone, a more peachy-tone will really brighten up the area. We mixed three dots of CUFFED with one dot of ORANGE WINE to achieve a nice peachy-pink. If you have a medium-to-dark skin tone, you'll want to stick to a more orangey-red tone. In order to achieve this one, we mixed three dots of ORANGE WINE with one dot of FEVER DREAM. Feel free to play around with it and see what shades you can create that work best for you— after all, everyone has different undertones. 

If you’ve never color corrected before, you’re going to look in the mirror and think you look crazy. It seems counterintuitive to apply more color to cover an already intense color. But doing so can actually create a much more flawless, natural looking base in the long run (thanks color theory)! Follow up with your regular foundation or concealer routine, and watch magic happen in front of (and under, literally) your eyes. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
